The Search for Malaysia’s Million Dollar Feet is Finally Over!
Two young Malaysians are now one step closer to their dream of being top class footballers.
14 year old Muhammad Yusry Haziq Idris from Kuching and 13 year old Adam Roshan Kris Azman from Kuala Lumpur were the two lucky winners chosen out of thousands of participants. The preliminary rounds were held in 5 major states across Malaysia where thousands of young boys and girls were put through their paces by a specialist team of football coaches headed by Steve McMahon of Liverpool FC fame
“The level of football skills in Malaysia is remarkable. Everywhere you look, you see boys and girls playing the game on fields, on the streets and even on the beach” said Raja Singham, BAC’s Managing Director. “We decided to sponsor Million Dollar Feet as Malaysians have incredible talent and we need to start them young because they need to get the right discipline, right training and attitude to build on their skills.”
Youngsters Yusry and Adam will be sent on the ultimate football experience in an all-expense-paid trip to the United Kingdom in November where they will have the opportunity to showcase their prowess to scouts from top European clubs, with the possibility of signing a deal. Yusry and Adam, along with their families, will also visit several tourism attractions and witness the Liverpool vs Sunderland match at Anfield.
Presented by BAC, Million Dollar Feet (MDF) is a unique football competition that plucks young players out of obscurity and makes their dream of becoming professional footballers a reality. Held over a period of 5 weeks, MDF gave aspiring footballers around Malaysia the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of elite coaches and mentors from premier European clubs.
