PETALING JAYA, 10 November 2017 — Brickfields Asia College (BAC) received the Social Media Excellence Award in Corporate Social Responsibility from the Social Media Chambers (SMC) Malaysia yesterday at the Malaysia Social Media Week 2017 Awards. The award was presented to the Managing Director of Brickfields Asia College Raja Singham by Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak.
“I am very happy for our team for winning this award. Community engagement is an integral part of the Make It Right Movement (MIRM), which is powered by BAC’s overall communications strategy, ‘Transforming Lives through Education’, and no one exemplifies this strategy better than our team.
“We plan to extend our reach and tap into the ever growing social media community, enabling us to tell our stories and get involved in what’s out there,” Mr. Raja said.
He was part of a panel discussion, “The Biggest Social Trend of 2017 and 2018, and How Far It Will Go”, held earlier in the day at Berjaya Times Square. Other panellists included Apple Allison — Founder of The Apple Allison Project, and Nick Tan — Managing Director of Digimatic Creatives, with Founder of travel blog “The Travel Camel” Shane Dallas as moderator. Mr Raja was presented with a memento by Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Abdul Razak after the discussion.
The Malaysia Social Media Week 2017 and its awards ceremony was organised by the SMC and My Events International to honour individuals and organisations from various industries who make the best use of social media.
