Overview

programme builds on the general foundation of business modules by examining the design and functioning of work and organisations, the regulatory environment and the societal context surrounding the workplace, and the techniques that are used to manage people at work.

Alongside this, the programme covers strategy, information, finance and accounting, operations and marketing to ensure that students have a general foundation in the business disciplines as well as the HRM specialism. The programme reflects the growth of the HR profession and the increased focus on people management in many organisations in both the public and private sectors.

Learning Outcomes

The course is designed to integrate a deep understanding of the subject matter with the development of key skills and competencies needed to adapt in a rapidly changing, dynamic, and competitive global marketplace. Upon completion, students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of complex modern business concepts, functions and procedures as well as contemporary issues and challenges.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem solving skills to make effective and ethical business decisions.
  • Apply problem solving methods to address both market and organization-based problems with creativity and innovation.
  • Align HR systems with the strategic business objectives of the organisation.
  • Demonstrate competence in communicating and exchanging ideas in  group context.
  • Analyse the key issues related to administering the human elements which include motivation, compensation, appraisals, career planning, diversity, ethics and training.

Entry Requirements

To enrol into this course, students are required to have a minimum of:

  • 5 SPM Credits (including English) or equivalent
  • 2 A Level Passes/ 2 STPM Principals or a recognised Degree

Trial Examinations/Forecast results are accepted
