Vernon Jude Samuel
Compliance Counsel, Country Management, Mubadala Energy Malaysia
Vernon is a qualified lawyer and compliance professional with more than
18 years of experience across private practice and in-house roles. He spent
a decade in general and commercial litigation before moving in-house as
General Counsel and Head of Compliance for a leading German automotive
group in Malaysia.
In 2026, he joined Mubadala Energy as Compliance Counsel, advising on
ethics and compliance matters for its Malaysian operations.
His industry recognitions include ALB Asia’s Top 15 General Counsels 2024,
ALB Malaysia’s Top 40 Under 40 2020, the ALB Southeast Asia Law Awards 2024
Manufacturing and Trade In-House Team of the Year, and inclusion in the
Legal 500 GC Powerlist in 2023 and 2026.
Adeline Chin
Co-Founder & COO, Chambers Lab
Co-Chairperson, Asia-Pacific Legal Innovation & Technology Association (ALITA)
Adeline is a legal innovation strategist and consultant working at the
intersection of law, technology and legal operations.
Through Chambers Lab and other legal innovation initiatives, she works
with lawyers and law firms across the Asia-Pacific on digital transformation,
practice optimisation, talent models and the practical adoption of legal technology.
She also serves on the Tech Expert Committee of the Asian International
Arbitration Centre and as Co-Chairperson of ALITA, bringing a regional
perspective on the future of legal practice and legal technology.
Mahendran Gnasamoothy
Former General Counsel & Head of Company Secretarial,
Dagang NeXchange Berhad and Ping Petroleum (UK) Plc
Mahendran brings more than 20 years of senior in-house legal and governance
experience across Bursa Malaysia Main Market-listed groups.
His career has spanned litigation, cross-border transactions, regulatory
compliance and legal leadership across industries including digital trade
infrastructure, oil and gas and semiconductors.
Among his professional achievements are a USD45 million asset-restructuring
recovery, a USD7 million insurance settlement and the recovery of RM195
million from PETRONAS.
He also lectures Civil Litigation Practice and Procedure at postgraduate
level at Brickfields Asia College.
Richard Wee
Managing Partner, Richard Wee Chambers
A Member of Grandall Law Firm
Richard Wee is an experienced legal practitioner whose career spans legal
practice, dispute resolution, technology, fintech and sports law.
He has served on various advisory and industry bodies involving organisations
and institutions such as the Ministry of Youth and Sports, MOSTI, MDEC,
the National Sports Institute, FIFA/FAM’s National Disputes Resolution Chambers
and the Union Cycliste Internationale.
He also serves on legal education and industry advisory panels, bringing
valuable insight into the intersection between professional practice,
emerging industries and the skills expected of future lawyers.
