Plogging for a Purpose: BAC Students making every step count.

Every step can make a difference – The student members of the Leo, Rotaract, and Women Legal Rights Club of BAC came together for the Community Plogging Programme 2026 organized by URBANICE Malaysia, on 2 July 2026 in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur. URBANICE Malaysia promotes the urban sustainability and resilience agenda with the aim of creating livable cities and communities for Malaysia. Through teamwork, community service, and a shared commitment to sustainability, students demonstrated that meaningful change begins with simple actions.

The programme offered a meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) opportunity by bringing together fitness, environmental sustainability, and community engagement. Participants took part in a plogging and walking while collecting litter, to help keep the Brickfields neighborhood clean while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

As part of the programme, participants also attended an awareness talk conducted by the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) on mental health and drug abuse prevention. The session emphasized the importance of mental well-being, making informed life choices, and fostering a supportive and resilient community.

This is my first plogging experience, and I find it to be an extremely meaningful project. We get to keep our roads clean from litter whilst setting an example to the onlookers. Some even threw litter in our bags after seeing us picking up rubbish from roads. Overall, it was a pleasant experience!
