IACT College Signs MOA with the Malaysian Digital Association (MDA)

It’s the season of exciting agreements and partnerships for IACT College!

On May 25th, 2023, a ceremony was held in honour of the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between IACT College and the Malaysian Digital Association (MDA). In attendance on behalf of IACT were its CEO, Ms Kavitha Arumugom, and Mr Timothy Chan, Head of Academics. Mr Kausern Hieu, Vice President of the MDA, and Mr Wong Siew Wai, CEO of Macomm Management Services and Secretary to the MDA, were also in attendance.

Established in 2009, the MDA represents over 60 companies from various digital industries including digital publishing, platforms, advertising agencies, creative agencies and digital service providers. Some organisations who are members of the MDA include Dattel Asia Group, Omnicom Media Group, and the Star Media Group. The MDA aims to be the leading voice in shaping the growth of Malaysia’s digital economy, and to help empower all digital businesses and professionals.

To kick of the signing ceremony, Mr Timothy and Mr Kausern both presented wonderful speeches that highlighted their hopes for the future of this partnership between IACT and the MDA, from each organisations’ perspective. The actual signing of the agreements then commenced, with all 4 representatives from IACT College and the MDA signing on behalf of their respective organisations. The ceremony was concluded with the snapping of a group photo and an exchange of tokens of appreciation, followed by some light refreshments.

IACT College is excited to partner with the Malaysian Digital Association and looks forward to working together to further the growth of Malaysia's digital industry. IACT College’s project-based learning pedagogy allows students to understand and experience real-world briefs for their course assignments. With organisations from all industries rapidly undergoing digitalisation, it is vital that students are exposed to digital communications.

This signing ceremony with the Malaysian Digital Association as IACT College’s Education Partner, is integral to enhancing our ability to equip students entering the talent pool. This collaboration will bring about significant enhancements towards our students’ preparedness when venturing into their careers.

Focused career counselling, internship opportunities, workshops, student mentorships, industry projects, professional certifications, master classes, and guest speakers are key areas of collaboration between IACT and the MDA.

All these initiatives aim to provide a 'multi-spectrum' approach to help IACT provide better training for our students, as well as enhanced exposure to the emerging and ever-changing landscapes of digital media, and of course, more career opportunities for our students.
