FAQs about Certificate in Legal Practice

To qualify for the CLP, you must have completed secondary education with a minimum of 5 credits in SPM or an equivalent qualification. For more details on entry requirements, please visit the BAC website.

The BAC CLP certificate preparatory course runs for approximately 9 months. It is an intensive programme designed to prepare candidates for the main CLP examination held annually.

The Certificate in Legal Practice course itself is purely academic and does not require an internship. However, passing the CLP is the mandatory prerequisite to commence your 9-month pupillage (chambering) at a law firm to become a qualified Advocate and Solicitor.

Our lecturers are not only academically qualified but also have extensive experience working in the legal/education industry. This combination ensures that you receive a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical insights to succeed in the fast-paced legal landscape.

Yes, we offer early bird rebates for the Certificate in Legal Practice tuition fees. These offers are time-sensitive, so we encourage prospective candidates to register early to secure the best rate.

We aim to make the CLP certificate accessible. Financial support is available through:

  • 0% interest instalment plans (Credit Card).

Yes, we offer in-house scholarships for students with outstanding results. If you achieve at least 3 A’s in your SPM or IGCSE, you may be eligible for a scholarship. If you have siblings enrolled in BAC, you may receive further fee waivers, making education more affordable for families.

The CLP is a professional license (vocational qualification) that allows a non-local law graduate to practice law in Malaysia. The LL.M is an academic degree (specialization) that allows a lawyer to deepen their knowledge in a specific field like Corporate Law or Islamic Finance. The CLP allows you to start your career; the LL.M allows you to advance your career.
