BAC Career Club members stepped beyond the classroom and into the Selangor State Legislative Assembly for an immersive experience in governance, leadership, and public service. They brought the learning beyond the classroom with this exclusive on the 3rd of August 2026, giving BAC students a firsthand look at how state governance and policymaking come to life.

Participants explored the legislative process by observing the Sidang DUN proceedings and engaging in insightful discussions with YB Rajiv Rishyakaran and fellow Members of the State Legislative Assembly. The interactive sessions offered valuable perspectives on leadership, public policy, governance, and careers in the public sector, while providing students with the opportunity to ask questions and connect directly with policymakers.

From witnessing debates in the Assembly to networking with elected representatives, the visit offered a unique behind-the-scenes experience that deepened participants’ understanding of civic leadership and public service.

Visiting the Selangor State Assembly was a valuable and eye-opening experience. As a Malaysian law student pursuing a UK law degree, witnessing a live debate on an important bill relating to freedom of religion gave me a deeper understanding of Malaysia’s legislative process. SSLA visit 26′ was a great experience for me because I got a chance to witness the rare chance of the process of law being debated before it is gazette.
