2024 IACT Convocation:

IACT recently held its highly anticipated 2024 graduation ceremony, a joyous occasion honouring the academic achievements and future prospects of its graduating students. The event, held at BAC Education's very own Omnia Auditorium, brought together faculty, families, and friends in a heartwarming celebration. The Speakers

During the ceremony, Raja Singham, Managing Director and Chief Future Officer of BAC Education, delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking address that resonated deeply with all in attendance. His speech emphasised the critical importance of creativity and innovation in the ever-evolving field of creative communication. Raja Singham encouraged the graduates to harness their creative potential and embrace innovative thinking as they embark on their professional journeys. He underscored that these qualities are not just desirable but essential for success in today's fast-paced and dynamic industry. By drawing on his own experiences and insights, he motivated the graduates to think outside the box, challenge the status quo, and continuously strive for excellence. Following this inspiring address, Timothy Chan, CEO of IACT, took the stage to deliver his note. In his heartfelt speech, he reflected on the incredible journey the graduates had undertaken, from their first days at IACT to this momentous occasion. He praised their resilience, hard work, and dedication, highlighting the countless hours of study, collaboration, and creative exploration that had brought them to this significant milestone. He emphasised the value of the education they had received and the strong foundation it provided for their future careers. He also spoke about the importance of continuing to learn and grow, encouraging the graduates to stay curious and adaptable in a rapidly changing world. University of Sunderland's Head of School of Media and Communications, Lee Hall, then took the podium to deliver his address. His speech was a blend of insightful observations and forward-thinking advice, tailored to the graduates embarking on their careers in media and communications. He spoke about the evolving landscape of the industry, highlighting the rapid technological advancements and the ever-growing importance of digital media. He also highlighted the strong partnership between the University of Sunderland and IACT, celebrating the collaborative efforts in providing a world-class education that equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the dynamic field of media and communications.

Chong Kern-Wei, IACT alumnus and keynote speaker, then took the stage to share his insights and experiences. As a distinguished alumnus who has made significant strides in his professional career, Chong Kern-Wei's speech was particularly inspiring for the graduates. He recounted his journey from being a student at IACT to achieving success in the competitive world of creative communication. He spoke about the challenges he faced and the lessons he learned along the way, emphasising the importance of perseverance, continuous learning, and staying true to one's passion. Kern-Wei, Director of Arts in Motions, who also made it to the Forbes 30 under 30 list in 2022, encouraged the graduates to leverage the skills and knowledge they acquired at IACT to carve out their own paths and make a meaningful impact in their respective fields. His heartfelt and motivational address left a lasting impression, instilling a sense of pride and optimism in the new graduates as they prepared to embark on their own professional journeys.

2024 IACT Valedictorian

Elsa Yeow who was named IACT Valedictorian, delivered a heartfelt speech that reflected on her educational journey. She recounted the challenges and triumphs she experienced, sharing personal anecdotes that highlighted her growth and transformation during her time at IACT. Elsa expressed deep gratitude for the unwavering support of her peers and mentors, acknowledging their crucial role in her success. She spoke passionately about the importance of using their skills and knowledge to make a positive impact in the industry, urging her classmates to strive for excellence and integrity in all their endeavors.

2024 IACT Chairman Award Winner

Amber Tan received the prestigious Chairman's Award for her exceptional leadership and dedication to the institute. Her contributions were pivotal in creating a supportive and nurturing environment for students, fostering both academic and professional success. Her innovative initiatives and commitment to empowering others left a lasting impact, setting a high standard for future student leaders. Her receipt of the Chairman's Award is a testament to her remarkable influence on the IACT community.
