A Christmas Icebreaker with Good Food, Fun & Friends
The Hospitality & Culinary Club (HCC) kicked off its journey with a Christmas Icebreaker that felt less like a formal event and more like the start of a family.
Held on 12th December 2025, the new club welcomed members into a room filled with great food, festive music, laughter and curiosity. Some arrived knowing familiar faces, others walked in as strangers, but everyone shared the same excitement of being part of something new. Warm introductions and easy smiles quickly set the tone, breaking the ice and creating an atmosphere of comfort and joy.
The highlight of the day was the food prepared and presented by the HCC team themselves. They did this with dedication, preparing dishes in the kitchen prior to the event and their skills were displayed in the array of dishes presented for the attendees. The Christmas-themed menu included mains dishes like pasta, pies desserts, sides and mocktails.
The energy in the room truly came alive with a series of interactive games and challenges. From an oversized Floor Tic Tac Toe to a fast-paced relay game circuit, the room buzzed with excitement. Members folded napkins with impressive creativity, bravely tasted different mystery food, sniffed spices with dramatic guesses and puzzled over conundrum words that sparked both laughter and friendly competition. Each activity highlighted the heart of hospitality, hands-on fun, teamwork and shared experiences.
Then came the famous treasure hunt that had teams racing across the venue with envelopes in hand, while the Try Not to Laugh challenge proved nearly impossible. Even simple games like Head, Shoulders, Knees became unforgettable moments as laughters echoed and barriers melted away.
When it was time for performances, members stepped up with courage and enthusiasm. Singing, dancing, joking and cheering filled the room, not for perfection, but for participation. These moments truly captured the spirit of HCC: supportive, vibrant and united.
The evening concluded with dinner, mingling and photos. Plates were shared, conversations deepened and memories were captured, turning a simple icebreaker into a meaningful celebration of connection and passion.
The first HCC event was more than just fun and food. It marked the beginning of a community built on warmth, teamwork and a shared love for hospitality. If this night was any indication, the journey ahead promises endless adventure, creativity and unforgettable moments.
