A Day of Connection and Care:
WLRC’s Visit to Rumah Ozanam PJ

A group of students from the BAC Women’s Legal Rights Club (WLRC) spent the afternoon of 23rd August at Rumah Ozanam PJ, where they made many children smile and brought joy to them. The aim of this visit was to create a memorable day for the children, one filled with fun and excitement, while also opening up an important and meaningful conversation about a serious topic: sexual harassment.
Sexual harassment is a serious and sensitive issue, and one that continues to rise. The WLRC team approached this topic with care and compassion during their visit to Rumah Ozanam, creating a space where the children not only gained awareness and confidence but also felt safe and supported. Though the subject was heavy, the team was committed to making it engaging, age-appropriate, and empowering.
Making it safe…
They kicked things off with a few activities, something simple, silly and fun, which worked its magic well. The kids warmed up to the students quickly and the awkwardness disappeared before we even started our main session.
It’s all about Learning, Sharing, Laughing.
The simple yet enlightening presentation sparked curiosity among the children. Many eagerly asked questions, and some were quick to answer too. For the WLRC team, seeing how engaged the kids were and knowing the message was truly sinking in meant the world.
Biscuits and tea…
Conversations during the break were the best part of the day. The children’s happy laughter and chats about school and hobbies gave the team a chance to connect with them beyond just the visit. To wrap up the day, they enjoyed a few fun rounds of charades, a constant favourite among the kids. It was loud, chaotic, and filled with laughter all afternoon, the kind of joyful energy that stays with you long after you leave.
Reflections & Takeaways
Looking back, it’s heartwarming to know that the kids walked away not just with knowledge, but with smiles and memories too. For the WLRC, this day was more than just a visit and a presentation. It was about connection, support and making a difference. WLRC also donated groceries and essential household items to Rumah Ozanam, made possible through contributions and sponsorships from team members.
Teamwork to success….
A big shoutout to the incredible WLRC team for making this visit a meaningful success. The experience not only brought joy to the children but also reignited the team’s spirit and excitement for future outreach efforts.
WLRC is already looking forward to their next visit, and many more to come. If this day proved anything, it’s that just a few hours of your time can make a lasting difference in someone’s life. Here’s to more moments that matter.
