A Walkthrough of BAC Happenings

Find out what goes on at BAC!

Student life at BAC has always been rich with events and activities. Wherever you turn, you can see a weekly club meeting happening, a project set up by IACT students for their assignment, an event organised by the BAC Education Group or a big celebration.

Even throughout the pandemic, the student experience remained, though it did move online.

As we transition into the endemic phase, some of these events have moved back to a physical or hybrid setting. Wanna know more? Keep reading!

Netball Sessions

These netball sessions are not only limited to netball; they also play captain ball! With a handful of state players in the netball club, you can be sure that these games will be filled with excitement. For all the guys out there who are interested in the sport, have no fear! The netball club does not discriminate by gender so feel free to join! Everyone is welcome!

IACT Christian Fellowship

This group of students come together to engage in biblical discussions and do life together. While IACTCF was formed as a Christian-centric club, all students, regardless of religious affiliations, are welcome to join. They even have sessions with external speakers about different aspects of Christianity, so if you are interested in joining a community of like-minded individuals to grow in your faith or learn more about Christianity, this is the place to go!

BAC Christian Fellowship

BAC CF conducts numerous Bible studies and discussions, as well as worship sessions and outings to cultivate stronger faith and fellowship. If you want to know more about the Bible, here's your chance. They, too, invite various external speakers to guide members in studying the Bible and building faith.

This jam session, held in one of BAC's music rooms allows students to express themselves musically and gives them a chance to practice together once a week. If you like to sing or play an instrument, join them and express your musical talents.

Editorial Club

Do you have a passion for writing or journalism? Join the editorial club as they pitch ideas and share content with each other. You are free to express any and all ideas you may have on campus-related or off-campus content.

Gamer's Guild

Wind down after a long day of classes by visiting the Gamer's Guild! They have a different theme each month, showcasing the different aspects of games. Some themes they've done are boardgames, console games and Dungeons and Dragons. Join them in their next theme!

SKILLS Club

The SKILLS Club holds various talks under 5 main areas: life, career, business, art & music, and tech. The modules are supplemented with the latest LinkedIn videos to reinforce the lessons learnt. The club invites different trainers for each session. They even had a professional chef conduct a demonstration class!

Debate Club Weekly Sparring Sessions

These weekly sparring sessions are the perfect place for you to test your debating skills. Each week they choose different motions and speaker positions. They bring in seniors to judge these debates and exchange feedback after the round, so you can even get some constructive criticism.

Futsal Sessions

These futsal sessions are the perfect way to feel active and have fun too. Take turns playing futsal with seasoned players to better yourself in the process. But remember, the goal is also to have fun!

Badminton Sessions

These sessions are another chance to unwind after a long week of classes. Join the badminton club as they have fun and exercise. You can choose the level you wish to play, as the members range from complete beginners to even national players!

Basketball Sessions

If you are looking for something to do over the weekend, join the basketball club as they meet up at the renowned sports centre of Catholic High School PJ. There, you will get a chance to learn the ropes with veteran players. They aim to improve your physical and mental development, so head there if you need to unwind!

MonsterFit: Salsation
This session held at the dance studio at MonsterFit gym is a great cardio workout, which not only enhances your stamina, but also your coordination as you learn the dance moves to a different song every three weeks. If you enjoy the art of dance, or just want to get fit in a fun way, Salsation is the place to go!
(Mondays, 6pm - 7pm)

MonsterFit: Muay Thai
Complete with certified trainers, this Muay Thai session varies in its intensity. If you wish for light training, that's what you can get. But if you wish to train for tournaments, the trainer will assess your physical capability and train you accordingly. If you aren't able to attend the session on Monday, don't fret! There is a repeat session on Wednesday!

MonsterFit: Belly Dancing
Join a licensed trainer as she teaches you how to move your hips! Want to learn how to dance fluidly while having fun? This is the place to go!

MonsterFit: Aqua Fitness
If you enjoy aerobics but are tired of the same routine, Aqua Fitness is the session for you! You even get the chance to use state-of-the-art equipment from the MonsterFit gym to enhance your experience in the class!

MonsterFit: Swimming
Become the Michael Phelps of BAC by learning the basics to advanced techniques of swimming as well as the different strokes like the freestyle, butterfly and backstroke!
(Thursdays, 6pm - 7pm)

MonsterFit: Yoga
If you want to relax, this is the place to be. A licensed yoga instructor will take you through some poses to allow yourself a chance to let go of your worries. If you're unsure of the poses, don't worry! The instructor will guide you thoroughly.

Pongal Fiesta

The Indian Cultural Society celebrated a prominent cultural festival this year on 14th January. Being one of the first physical events after a long absence from campus, it was quite an exciting affair. The event featured several attractions such as a Kolam competition, a pot painting competition, and even the pot breaking tradition. Keep an eye out for more of their celebrations!

Edu Fair 2022

The BAC Education Group is all about transforming lives through education. They continued to do so with Edu Fair Asia 2022. The pandemic did not stop BAC Education Group as they held it in the form of an online conference. Besides attending information packed webinars, prospective students had the opportunity to meet one-on-one with senior faculty members from partner universities in the UK.

Internal Moots Championship

BAC's Mooting Society held its annual Internal Moots Championship in January 2021. It allowed the future lawyers of BAC to gain experience a court-like setting as well as receive feedback on their submissions from practicing lawyers, and even judges from the High Court and Federal Court. Write For Rights

The Amnesty Club of BAC gave students and staff an opportunity to speak out on injustices and social issues happening in the world during the Write For Rights campaign, which happened on 17th and 28th January this year. The event was even attended by a representative of Amnesty International Malaysia as she spoke on the global impact of Write for Rights.

Friday Night Fever

If Avengers: Endgame was the most ambitious crossover event of movies, Friday Night Fever was the most ambitious crossover event of BAC. Organised by four different clubs (Leo Club, Amnesty Club, ALSA and Law Society), Friday Night Fever was a gala night held to allow students to socialise, mingle and get to know each other while participating in fun party activities together.

Ikigai 4.0

The clubs aren't the only ones organising events! In accordance with the 'Serving Our Society' module, IACT students organised several charity flea markets and a movie screening to raise money for Sekolah Alternatif Borneo. Though Ikigai 4.0 has ended, the students' charitable work is not over! They will certainly be back for Ikigai 5.0 with a new beneficiary, so stay tuned!

Lawsome: Open Day

The Law Society, one of the biggest clubs in BAC welcomed an abundance of new members with the new intake by organising their very own Law Society Open Day. They introduced all the different departments of their club and what they each do. Follow their Instagram to view some of their ongoing projects!

Blood Donation Drive

Twice a year, BAC organises a blood donation drive. The most recent one was on 25th April 2022. BAC has partnered with the National Blood Bank to do what they can to replenish the country's blood supply.

BAC Movie Day
