ALSA x Raja, Darryl & Loh Law Connect
Tax & Revenue Insights

The ALSA BAC x RDL Law Connect: Tax and Revenue Day 2, focused on the Legal Opinion Writing Competition titled Courtroom to Boardroom, and it was proudly organised by the Training, Exchange & Development (TED) Department of ALSA BAC, in collaboration with Raja, Darryl & Loh (RDL). This session marked the culmination of the competition and was dedicated to providing participants with valuable, constructive feedback to enhance their legal writing skills. With dual objectives in mind, the event both acknowledged participants' hard work and fostered their professional development, offering a rich platform for aspiring legal professionals to gain practical insights and expert guidance.

One of the key highlights of the event was the detailed feedback session led by an experienced lawyer from RDL, Vijey R. Mohana Krishnan, who also led the session. Participants from Day 1 received both general observations and personalised critiques of their submissions, focusing on structure, clarity, legal reasoning and overall communication. This session not only reinforced academic learning but also bridged the gap between theory and real-world legal practice. Through this process, participants were encouraged to reflect critically on their analytical approaches and to refine their skills in legal opinion writing.

The event also served as a celebration, where the competition winners were officially announced. Congratulations to Champion: Lim Dou Soon and First Runner-Up: Natalie Lim Zhi Ka. Certificates were presented in recognition of their exceptional work, with special commendations for excellence in legal analysis, originality, and presentation.

To conclude, a networking session was held in a relaxed setting, offering participants an invaluable opportunity to connect directly with legal practitioners. This informal interaction encouraged meaningful conversations, mentorship opportunities, and the potential for future connections within the legal field.

This event highlights the significance of feedback, mentorship, and collaboration in the professional development of law students. It underscores the shared commitment of ALSA BAC and RDL to nurture the growth of the next generation of legal thinkers, while upholding the standards of excellence in legal education and practice.

This initiative showcased ALSA BAC’s dedication to bridging the gap between academic knowledge and legal practice, while also strengthening its connections with leading industry professionals.
