BAC Sikh Society's Jodh Mela

The BAC Sikh Society is a newly formed club dedicated to creating a shared space for Sikh students at BAC Education to come together and practice their religion. One of the celebrations of the Sikh religion is Jodh Mela, a thanksgiving celebration in which they pray for blessings for future endeavours.

On 19th August 2023, the Sikh Society organised their very own Jodh Mela to pray for blessings in their future endeavours and events of the newly formed club. From 3:30pm, students started gathering at Gurdwara Sahib Subang, ready for a night of bonding and prayer.

At 5pm, the event began with a round of tea and snacks, bringing a warm and welcome atmosphere. Next, the event proceeded indoors to icebreaking and games. During the icebreaking session, the committee had an opportunity to introduce the Sikh Society and their planned activities. The highlight of the games session was the singing game, Antakshiri.

After the games session ended, the participants proceeded to the main event, which was the prayer session. They prayed for a prosperous future for the Sikh Society and many smooth sailing events to come. This act of prayer fostered a sense of piety and devotion in the students. They also became more bonded as a group after this prayer session.

Once the prayers were over, the students gathered for a communal dinner cooked by the staff of Gurdwara Sahib Subang. Students got to bond and converse with each other. Engagement was high as the participants shared their experiences and got to know each other a bit better.

All in all, this event was a successful start to the Sikh Society's tenure. Stay tuned for their upcoming events, and if you are interested to know more, you can follow their Instagram!
