Back to Y2K: BAC Law Society's Ultimate Throwback Party

The Law Society successfully organised a vibrant and nostalgic Y2K-themed post-exam party on Friday, 30th May 2025, celebrating the end of exams in true 2000s–2010s style. The event aimed to bring students together for a well-deserved night of fun, music, and relaxation, a break from academic stress and a chance to relive the energetic spirit of the Y2K era.

Students were welcomed by a colourful setup, complete with a Polaroid photo booth, a fun tattoo station, and simple food for the night that set the tone for an exciting evening.

The party officially kicked off with lively opening remarks by the two vibrant emcees, Amanda and Avvimesh, followed by an inspiring speech from Kyra, the President of BAC's Law society, who reminded everyone of the importance of balance, celebration, and community.

The entertainment for the evening began with a dynamic dance performance by Evanovo, who captivated the crowd with two K-pop hits ‘Shhh and Igloo’. Their energy was matched by an incredible vibe from Lim Yew Ching, Yaiswini, Lee Ha Ying, and Lee Jye Qi, who brought their own flair to the stage.

Keeping the momentum alive, the live band Retroactive Interference delivered an unforgettable performance with a nostalgic setlist that included ‘505, Still Into You, You Belong With Me and Last Friday Night.' The band became an instant crowd favorite, especially when they were joined onstage by special guest guitarist, JK.

As the night progressed, the dance floor lit up during a high-energy dance session by DJ Asher, keeping the Y2K vibes going until the very last beat.

The event came to a close on a high note, with students dancing and celebrating together, a perfect end to a stressful exam season.

Thank you to everyone who made this event a night to remember. Well done to the organising team for making this event such a memorable one.

Be sure to stay tuned for more exciting events with the BAC LAW Society!
