BAC's Mandarin Debate Club Keep Winning Ways

BAC’s Mandarin Debate Club is proving once again that they are a force to be reckoned with! With their winning ways continuing on 23rd of March, where the team emerged victorious in Preliminary Round Match 2 of the Chinese Debate World Cup, securing a hard-fought 2:1 win against the University of Malaya (UM).
The motion for the round—"Many friends or only a few close confidants is a better interpersonal relationship?"—saw BAC taking the proposition side, delivering very well constructed arguments and equally compelling rebuttals that impressed the judges. Their skill and teamwork were constantly shining through, ultimately earning them another well-deserved victory in this competition.
Star Performers and a Winning Team
This victory was a true team effort, but special recognition goes to Amanda Kah Pei Ru and Lo Xiang Yi, who were named the Best Debaters of the match. Their ability to put out persuasive arguments with confidence and while making it clear played a vital role in securing BAC’s win this round.
The winning lineup that brought home the victory consists of:
- Amanda Kah Pei Ru (UOL Y2)
- Lo Xiang Yi (UOL Y1)
- Hew Wei Yee (FIL)
- Euzine Tang (UKT Y1)
- Tan Jun Yao (UOL Y1)
- Guok Zhi Jing (UOL Y2)
A special shout-out also goes to Mr. Lock Jun Qi, the team’s dedicated coach, whose guidance have been instrumental in shaping BAC’s debating success.
On to the Quarter Finals!
With this win, BAC’s Mandarin Debate Club has secured a spot in the quarter-finals, which will take place on the 12th of April at Universiti Sains Malaysia. They will be facing Multimedia University (Melaka), last year’s competition runner-up—a formidable opponent, but one BAC is more than ready to take on.
As the team gears up for their next challenge, we at BAC are immensely proud of their achievements and will be cheering them on every step of the way. All the best in the quarterfinals, BAC Mandarin Debate Club!
Bring home another win!
