'Cook Like a Pro' takes on Indian Cuisine!

Sugar, spice, and everything rice!

These were three ingredients used by the participants that joined Reliance College's new series of professionally certified cooking classes.

'Cook Like a Pro' offers a series of courses covering different cuisines: Malay, Indian, Japanese, Chinese, and Western, with 4 sessions per course. Upon completion of each course, participants will get a professional certificate in the particular cuisine they enrolled for. This time we explored the tantalising and rich flavours of India!

Under the guidance of Chef S.Ram, participants got to learn a variety of dishes under traditional and modern Indian Cuisine, including Chicken Dum Biryani, Prawn Manchurian, Tandoori-marinated Chicken, and all time favourite dishes such as Gulab Jamun.

Chef S.Ram is currently the Head Chef for Indian Cuisine at the Renaissance Hotel KL, and is a pro in contemporary, classical and modern Indian cuisine. His approach to cooking is to do it with passion and soul.

Classes were held at the Reliance College training kitchen. Each class began with the preparation of an appetizer, then three to four main courses, and a dessert, to satisfy those sweet tooths!

Chef S.Ram gave good instructions to the attendees, who found it easy to follow along and recreate his recipes during the classes. The Malabar Fish Curry was the biggest hit with participants!

The air in class was bubbling with fun and excitement which grew with every new dish learned. The mouth-watering aromas of spice, curry, fried meats and vegetables, wafted across campus: a testament to the culinary magic that Chef S.Ram and the participants were cooking up during class.

It's safe to say that each participant will be starting the new year as better cooks, and we hope you'll join us in our next series of classes, with 'Cook Like a Pro!'
