Year 1
Child Growth and Development
This module discusses a child’s development from birth through the end of the early childhood years. The main developmental themes and trends within this time are considered as the implications from caring and interacting with children at different points in their development. This module also emphasises on how family, community and culture influences growth and development.
Introduction to Early Childhood Education
This course will provide you with the key understanding of philosophy, goals and learning objectives as well as implementation of National Preschool Curriculum Standards and PERMATA curriculum. You will also be exposed to other international preschool curriculum.
Early Learning and Early Environment
Early Learning and Early Environment discusses the importance of conducive environment, health and safety principles according to a child’s development. It involves the appropriate use of materials and digital resources in early learning curriculum delivery.
Play in Early Childhood Education
Play in Early Childhood Education discusses the correlation between play time, the learning process and children's development. This module allows you to design play activities and toys for children.
Guiding Young Children
Guiding Young Children emphasises on the theoretical orientation in early childhood education. You will learn leadership skills and values, strategies and techniques to promote emotional and social wellness. This course allows you to professionally deal with the challenging behaviours of young children.
Language and Literacy in Early Childhood Education
This module offers an overview on the development of language, literacy and listening skills in young children. It emphasises language and literacy theories and activities, teachers’ approach and strategy to incorporate appropriate materials and digital resources to promote literacy.
Music, Movement and Drama in Early Childhood Education
This module introduces you to the world of teaching music, drama and movement in the early childhood classroom. It demonstrates how powerful the learning areas of music, drama and movement are in respect to accessing other learning areas. It also provides a knowledge base for the deeper understanding of theory, application methodologies, practical activities and the significance of music, drama and movement in the early childhood curriculum.
Health, Safety and Nutrition in Early Childhood Education
This module focuses on the aspects of health, safety and nutrition for young children. The topics covered are policies and procedures of nutrition; basic concepts of food and nutrients, safety, and maximising the child’s potential through health.
Mathematics in Early Childhood Education
This subject introduces early Mathematics concepts and skills to help you plan developmentally appropriate Mathematics learning through daily routine and activities. It encourages you to prepare materials and digital resources, and create an active learning environment that fosters curiosity and confidence.
Social Studies in Early Childhood Education

Arts and Crafts in Early Childhood Education

Special Needs in Early Childhood Education
Special Needs in Early Childhood Education provides you with pertinent information about this specific area. This module guides you through identification, assessment and extra support that is essential in dealing with the issues of special needs. You will also be equipped to provide effective and influential education to children in this particular position.
Year 2
Partnering with Families in Early Childhood Education
This module is intended to introduce you to the family concept by looking at various definitions, family oriented early childhood education, discuss on the framework of family, and early childhood settings cooperation. It is designed to help you understand and comprehend the communication at early stages of relationship between school and family.
Partnering with Community in Early Childhood Education
This module is designed to help you develop the required knowledge and skills to collaborate with community members. When children see positive communication between community, or carers and staff, they will begin to learn it is important to build healthy relationships. In partnering with community, you will be able to share your experiences with each other and your understanding of how your bond is important to a child.
Curriculum Planning and Development
This module discusses the importance of developing children’s spiritual and moral values in early years. It focuses on fundamental values and morals inculcated in young learners. It aims to develop your ability to plan developmentally appropriate spiritual and moral programmes for young children.
Science and Technology for Early Childhood Education
This module introduces you to the world of teaching science and technology, and its development through materials and digital resources delivery of early learning curriculum. Instructions, curriculum and strategies are discussed to help you become an effective and competent science and technology teacher.
Spiritual and Moral Values in Early Childhood Education
This module focuses on fundamental values, with key concepts on moral and spiritual inculcated in young learners. It helps you develop effective interpersonal skills and discusses different approaches to teaching moral and spiritual values, integrating moral with social and culture and creating activities based on moral values.
Observation and Assessment in Early Childhood Education
Observation and Assessment in Early Childhood Education explores the strategies of observing and assessing processes as a means of studying the development of children. You will be introduced to systematic methods of observation and assessment to establish nurturing relationships with a non-threatening approach.
Programme Planning and Development in Early Childhood Education
This module exposes you to the philosophy, theories, principles and models of programme planning and development in early childhood care and education. The scheduling and evaluation for continuous programme improvement, curriculum and other organisational systems covering the various approaches and strategies are also highlighted in this course.
Administration and Management in Early Childhood Education
This module focuses on understanding of the basic requirements for setting up of a nursery and pre-school, the regulatory guidelines, the operational aspects of the centre, financial planning for sustainability, marketing and staff development.
English for Early Childhood Education (Elective)
You will be introduced to the school curriculum and other organisational systems, including theories, covering the various early childhood education approaches. This will encompass nursery until kindergarten levels.
Online Teaching for Early Childhood Education (Elective)
This module will build knowledge and skills needed in the foundations of technology-based teaching and learning in the early childhood education context. You will learn a range of digital technologies which support teaching and learning. This includes the learning of and about resources and digital applications for preschool online teaching and learning.
Practicum (TASKA & TADIKA)
This practicum module will provide you with hands-on experience in the classroom allowing you to be introduced to the challenges and responsibilities that come with teaching of pre-schoolers.

Malaysian Studies 2 (Malayisian Students)
This module discusses history and politics, the Constitution, administrative systems and structures, community and unity, nation-building and religious beliefs. You will learn to foster a strong sense of national identity and patriotism.
Malay Communication 1 (International Students)
You will learn about the basics of Malay language and communication skills, and you will also practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Malay to improve your overall proficiency in the language.
Community Service 1
Community Service provides an opportunity to support the well-being of communities. You will learn to identify the needs of communities and contribute to a community service or charity of your choice.
Organisational Behaviour in Multi-ethnic Society in Malaysia 1
This module helps you understand the theoretical aspects and practical applications of organisational behaviour. It prepares you for work in organisations, and gives you the competency to work more effectively and efficiently in a sustainable manner.
