End of Month Halloween Showcase
by Spoken Word Club

The Spoken Word Club successfully hosted its combined end of Month Halloween Showcase (EOM) and Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 30th October 2025. The event brought together members, performers and new participants for an immersive evening filled with creativity, theatrical expression and community-building.

Held in Liverpool at the BAC Flagship PJ Campus, the event opened with a Halloween-inspired ambiance, transforming the venue into an eerie yet inviting space. Dim lights, thematic decorations and atmospheric music set the tone for the night. The night seemed lovely as both committee members and participants arrived dressed in an array of imaginative costumes, complete with makeup and character roles embodying the club’s mission to foster freedom of expression, creativity and storytelling.

To begin the night, committee members performed a short theatrical piece titled The Spoken Word Society. Though brief, the play delivered a humorous yet heartfelt depiction of the club’s dreams, values and journey, setting an uplifting tone for the rest of the event.

Following the committee’s performance, the spotlight shifted to the End of Month Showcase, where student actors presented an original Halloween-themed play. It was entirely written, directed and performed by students. The piece was both imaginative and captivating, an electrifying display of young talent and storytelling prowess.

The  club commenced its Annual General Meeting, after the Halloween segment . Members from each department were introduced and they shared their roles and expressed their hopes for the upcoming term.

To maintain the festive spirit, the AGM concluded with a lively Halloween Fashion Walk, featuring different costumes by both committee members and participants. The creativity on display that night added a fun and interactive element to the meeting.

The evening wrapped up with a group photography session, bringing together all attendees in a moment of unity and celebration. The strong turnout and enthusiastic participation reflected the growing interest and support within the Spoken Word community.

The combined AGM and Halloween EOM Showcase was a resounding success. Participants remained engaged throughout the night, offering positive responses to both the performances and the club updates. The event skillfully blended creativity with organisation, embodying the Spoken Word Club’s mission to deliver meaningful, expressive and memorable experiences.
