Art4Good was a joint exhibition of more than 80 beautiful paintings centred around the theme 'Let the Children Dream' by artists Mr. Yeow Teck Chai and Oon Soon Keat, as well as special guest artist Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz.
This charity exhibition was held from September 6th - 10th, 2023, at Bangsar Shopping Centre in aid of charity SSMH (Society for the Severely and Mentally Handicapped) and FFS (Free Food Society) and was supported by BAC Education.
The Co-founder and managing director of BAC Education, Mr. Raja Singham, and artist Mr. Teow Teck Chai welcomed all guests and VIPs to the event at a special launch ceremony held on September 6th, 2023.
Special guest artist and VIP, Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz, also spoke at the launch and generously donated five of her own acrylic paintings for a silent auction.
The Main Event
To kick the charity event off, Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz launched the key part of the event, Mr. Yeow Teck Chai's second art book called, "Let Our Children Dream".
The crowd applauded the reveal of Yeow Teck Chai's poster for his art book as Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz received one of the first copies of the new book, signaling the beginning of an event filled with generosity and philanthropy.
The theme of generosity continued with the President of FFS, Datuk Ali, presenting Datuk Yoges and Dato VV Nathan, with beautiful paintings as a token of appreciation for their generous sponsorship of the book.
Artist Yeow Teck Chai also taking the stage to gift Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz one of his own paintings for her contributions and generosity in making this event a special one.
A Night of Generosity
With the charity event at full speed, the guests themselves took part in playing an important role in supporting the key charities involved.
The guests purchased paintings belonging to the esteemed artists to help support both FFS and SSMH. As well as experiencing and purchasing the many art pieces, guests went on to purchase mugs, t-shirts, and tumblers, all of which featured Mr. Yeow Teck Chai's previous art series - 'Birds'.
Even kids got their own expertice as they toured the exhibition and had their own little art bash all to themselves as they put their art skills to paper with joy and passion.
Art enthusiasts also took part in purchasing the key highlight of the event, the book itself. Many of them were ecstatic and amazed by the details in each painting. The guests were also able to get their copies signed by Yeow Teck Chai himself.
The Ones Who Made It Possible
The event was nothing short of a massive success. Raising a total of RM 300,000 for the Free Food Society and the Society for the Severely and Mentally Handicapped..
Such a success as this must not be understated, and the ones who made it possible must not go unappreciated. A huge shout out to our very own student volunteers and staff, who took the time to support and aid in the success of the event. They truly were the backbone of what made Art4Good really great.
