IACT Seals the Deal with wREGA

After months of discussions and negotiations, IACT and wREGA (Pertubuhan Wakaf Reka Grafik Malaysia) sealed their partnership with a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on 31 October 2022. wREGA is a non-profit, non-political organisation with the objective of encouraging professional practice and promoting design excellence in the art and science of visual communication in commerce, trade, industry, and education. wREGA is recognised by ico-D, a non-governmental, non-political professional body with consultative status with UNESCO, UNIDO and WIPO.

The momentous ceremony was graced with the presence of guests of honours: Mr. Kamarul Izam who is the Vice-President of wREGA, Mr. Arez Ezman who is the Vice-President of International Council of Design (ico-D), and Mr. Muhammad Razif Nasruddin who is a fellow Committee Member of wREGA. Also present from BAC Education Group were Mr. Raja Singham, Executive Chairman of BAC Education, Ms. Kavitha, CEO of IACT College, Mr. Lawrence Chan, Chief Marketing Officer of BAC, Mr. Nigel Gan, CEO of Reliance College, Mr. Timothy Chan, Head of Academics at IACT College and Mr. Johan Kondrollochis, the Academic Director of Reliance College.

The MOA signifies wREGA’s endorsement of IACT students’ industry readiness, particularly its programmes which are offered under the School of Digital Design - Diploma in Graphic Design, BA (Hons) Advertising & Design, and B. Communication (Hons) Branding & Digital Marketing.

With the signing of the MOA, IACT students will gain more mileage and benefits from companies and institutions registered with wREGA. Students will also be exposed to real-life industry projects, wider options for internship placements, and broader job opportunities under these companies. This will in turn assure our students’ relevancy with the trends in design, advertising, branding, and marketing.
