KLPICC & BAC Bring Deepavali Joy to 100 Families at PPR Bukit Jalil

The spirit of Deepavali shone brightly on 11th October 2025 as the Kuala Lumpur & Putrajaya Indian Chamber of Commerce (KLPICC) brought early festive cheer to 100 families at PPR Bukit Jalil. Through a heartfelt community outreach initiative, KLPICC sought to ease the burdens of low-income households, ensuring they could celebrate the Festival of Lights with dignity and joy.

The event was graced by KLPICC President Dato Baldev, alongside former president Elankumaren, Vice President Selvam Krishnan, Secretary Selva Nagappan, YES Chairman Dhanyaraam, and other community leaders, including Kamalini, Viknesvaran, and Dinish Pandian.

In collaboration with BAC's NGO arm, UPLIFT (Pertubuhan Bangkit), the initiative provided Deepavali Provision Packs to families in need. These thoughtful packages included essential items such as rice, margarine, murukku flour, tea, oil, biscuits, and other festive necessities. With this gesture, KLPICC and UPLIFT aimed to ensure that every family could partake in the joy of Deepavali, despite the financial challenges they may face.

While many households across the country are busy preparing for the festival, there are others, particularly B40 single mothers and low-income families in PPRs and flats, who continue to grapple with hardship. For them, Deepavali can sometimes be a painful reminder of the struggles they face every day.

This initiative was a beautiful reminder of the strength of community, the warmth of compassion, and the power of unity. Through this thoughtful initiative, KLPICC and UPLIFT showed that even in the most challenging times, hope and light can flourish when we come together in the spirit of kindness and giving.

As families in PPR Bukit Jalil prepare to celebrate, they carry the comforting knowledge that they are part of a supportive, caring community.

Together, we’ve not only brightened their celebrations but have also lit the way for a future filled with hope and shared humanity.
