It was a busy afternoon for these IACT College students as they held their art exhibition and portfolio showcase to almost 100 visitors! Magnum Opus, a collaborative event organized by penultimate year students from the Diploma in Graphic Design and Diploma in Marketing and Advertising, aimed to shine a light on each of the respective member’s work accomplished during their time here at IACT College
Crowds gathered as they came to show their support to the outgoing students, browsing through their unique pieces of work on display, talking about their different inspirations and rationales, as well as shopping some of the student’s handmade wares made available for sale. Lecturers, staff, students and external visitors such as potential clients, hiring representatives and other industry experts invited to mingle and network with one another.
Each student had their booth, a small area to decorate and best fit their needs, everyone showcased their self-branding kits, a portfolio of their work and copies of their CVs, all outlining the different hard work produced. Students expressed themselves by having on sale oil paintings, candles, crocheted flowers and their own branded merchandise.
Magnum Opus, led by their President, Nicholas Jayasuria, a graphic design student, consists of students from both the School of Creative Arts and the School of Marketing and Advertising. The event was generously supported by: Teesside University, Kikkoman, Liquid Brew, Westwood Group and Manissha Tailoring.
