NextGen FinTech Tech Talk: The Future of Finance is Already Here
It's never-ending excitement and immersion with new tech for our institution! This time it's the NextGen FinTech Tech Talk that was held at BAC. An event that gave our students and industry guests a front-row seat to the financial revolution that’s unfolding right now.
Since we don't do things halfway, we brought a powerhouse lineup of speakers for our session to share how technology is redefining the way we think about money, banking, and financial services.
"China’s FinTech ecosystem is five years ahead of the world," Mr. Muhammad Fahmi from Sunline revealed how innovation at scale is transforming the daily financial lives of 1.4 billion people, offering valuable lessons for the rest of the world.
"Banking innovation isn’t coming — it’s already here!"
Mr. Ashish from Backbase discussed how traditional banks are being forced to adapt or risk fading into irrelevance as digital-first platforms redefine customer experience.
"Wealth management is no longer exclusive."
Mr. Wai Ken from StashAway broke down how artificial intelligence is democratizing investment, giving everyday users access to the same sophisticated tools once reserved for high-net-worth individuals.
"AI is amplifying the smart finance professionals."
Mr. Foong Chee Mun from Ryt Bank demonstrated how large language models (LLMs) are revolutionizing the financial sector, enabling professionals who embrace technology to move faster, think sharper, and deliver more value.
But the highlight of the day was UNIMY’s announcement of a new partnership with Infoline IT Solutions, which establishes a dedicated Cybersecurity Lab and Security Operations Centre (SOC). This initiative gives students hands-on access to real-world cybersecurity tools and live system monitoring, all to prepare them to protect financial systems in an era where digital security defines trust.
One thing was made clear here and that is - the future of finance belongs to professionals who understand both traditional finance and emerging technology.
