How Do I Get In?

  • A Master Degree (Level 7 Malaysian Qualifications Framework, MQF)   
  • Any equivalent master degree - subject to University’s Senate approval. 

English Language Requirements

  • Pass in English at SPM level
  • MUET: Minimum band 3.5; or 
  • GCSE: Minimum Pass; or
  • IELTS: Minimum Band 5.0; or 
  • TOEFL iBT: Minimum Score 40; or 
  • PTE: 47; or
  • LINGUASKILL: 154; or
  • Any equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government (equivalent to CEFR High B1)  

** Validity of test results

  • MUET - 5 years
  • IELTS & TOEFL - 2 years

Research Methodology and Academic Writing

This module will provide you with the fundamental knowledge needed to conduct research and present the outcome of research. The first part of this module introduces you to several research methods useful for academic and professional investigations of information practices, texts and technologies. With emphasis given to research in computing disciplines, this module permits an understanding of the various decisions and steps involved in crafting (and executing) a research methodology, as well as a critically informed assessment of published research. 

The second part of this module will equip you with the tools for success in writing for any academic discipline at the graduate level. The module also focuses on enhancing lexical and grammatical accuracy in written communication, preparing you for graduate level assignments in academic fields, while improving your presentation skills, ensuring successful thesis and publications without plagiarism, and preparing for oral examinations.
