Here's the Course Overview
Unlike other LLMs, the Veritas LLM focusses on legal practice as you will learn the law as it applies in a client-focussed real-world environment.
Emphasising practical and technical proficiency, this LLM utilises innovative problem-based learning. Our approach focusses on hands-on experience, applying legal skills to real-world tasks and scenarios encountered in practice. The Veritas LLM is a fully online programme that allows you to learn anywhere, anytime.
Course Entry Requirements
- A Bachelor Degree in the field with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or equivalent, as accepted by the HEP Senate, or
- A Bachelor Degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment, and
- Candidates without a qualification in the related fields or working experience in the relevant fields must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by the HEP and meet the minimum CGPA based on (i) to (ii).

Examination Structure
The assessment structure includes continuous assessments and a final examination at the end of each module. Continuous assessments may consist of online assessments and individual written assignments. In the final stage of the programme, students must complete a research project to fulfill graduation requirements.
Grading is based on a combination of exam results and continuous assessments. The grading scale typically includes Distinction, Merit, and Pass classifications, reflecting students’ overall academic performance.

Intellectual Property & Technology Law

Exemption and Progression Pathway
Students who have completed an LL.M. and wish to further their legal expertise may explore doctoral studies in Law. Eligibility for a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Law is assessed based on academic qualifications and research interests. The LL.M. also provides a solid foundation for specialization through professional certifications, enabling you to enhance the legal careers in academia, research, or industry.

What careers can students pursue after completing the Master of Law (LLM)?
LL.M. graduates have various career paths based on their specialization. Those in corporate law often work in corporate legal departments, advising on contracts, compliance, and strategy.
Others pursue academia, teaching law at universities. Some join government agencies, think tanks, or international organizations, contributing to legal policies, reforms, and global regulations.
Will fees be exempted for the LL.M if awarded a first-class Bachelor's in Law at BAC?
As a BAC alumni with a First-Class Bachelor of Laws, you will be entitled to a tuition fee of RM10,000 for the LL.M programme.
Are there any scholarships available?
Although scholarships are not available, we do provide financial assistance through EPF withdrawals and instalment payment schemes.
Besides, while there are no fee exemptions, we do offer alumni discounts for BAC graduates.
Are there any internship opportunities during the LL.M program?
The LLM programme does not include formal internship opportunities however, students can engage in research and interviews as part of their Research Project, providing valuable practical experience
What is the difference between an LL.B and an LL.M?
LLB (Bachelor of Laws) is an undergraduate law degree that provides foundational legal knowledge and qualifies graduates for legal practice (with additional qualifications like the CLP).
LLM (Master of Laws) is a practice-based postgraduate degree that focuses on specialised legal fields such as advocacy, arbitration, intellectual property, and banking & finance. Unlike the LLB, the LLM is not a requirement to practice law, but it offers hands-on, practical training that enhances expertise and opens up career opportunities in legal practice, corporate law, and international sectors.
Can I pursue an LL.M while working full-time?
Absolutely! At VUC, we offer flexible study options, such as online distance learning, enabling students to balance their careers with their studies. If you're working full-time, you can take advantage of evening classes, weekend lectures, or self-paced online modules. However, it's important to plan your time effectively, as the coursework and assessment components require dedication and commitment.
Is the LL.M internationally recognized?
Yes, the LLM is internationally recognized and accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), ensuring it meets the necessary standards for higher education in Malaysia.
