Most of all, law empowers you to make a difference – to stand up, speak out, and shape the future.

Lawyer (Solicitor or Barrister)

As a Solicitor, you’ll be your clients’ go-to advisor, handling contracts, negotiations, and legal strategy.
Prefer the spotlight? As a Barrister, you’ll argue in court and bring big cases to life.

Judge or Legal Academia

As a Judge, you'll interpret the rules that shape society and make decisions that truly matter. Or take the academic route — teaching, researching, and shaping the future of legal thinking as a Legal Scholar.

In-House Legal Counsel

Think law meets business. In-house lawyers are legal MVPs inside companies, guiding big decisions, managing risk, and helping brands grow while staying on the right side of the law.

Legal Tech Innovator

From AI tools that read contracts to apps that offer legal help at scale, you’ll be creating smarter, faster ways to practice law — and making it more accessible for everyone.

Human Rights or International Lawyer

Fight for justice on a global stage. Whether you're working with the UN, NGOs, or international courts, you'll tackle big issues like refugee rights, war crimes, and climate justice.

Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Specialist

Be the expert companies call when they want to keep hackers out and stay compliant with data laws.
You'll be a digital defender in a hyper-connected world.

Entrepreneur or Start-Up Advisor

Start your own business — or help others launch theirs. With your legal edge, you’ll know how to navigate contracts, protect IP, and handle the fine print most founders fear.

Examination Structure

The University of London programme follows a 3+0 structure, consisting of three academic levels: Level 4, 5, and 6 (Year 1, 2, and 3). You will typically complete four subjects per year, totaling 12 law subjects to qualify for certification. While the standard duration is three years, you have up to seven years to complete the programme.

Eligibility for the Certificate of Legal Practice and the UK Bar Course depends on the latest requirements outlined by LPQB and the UK Bar. Assessments are primarily written exams, usually accounting for 100% of the module grade. Some modules may include multiple-choice questions or a combination of assessment formats.

Exams are typically three hours long and conducted in a closed-book format unless stated otherwise. The grading system ranges from First-Class (70% and above) to Fail (below 40%), with resit opportunities available in the October exam session.

Recommended Subject Combinations

The Bachelor of Laws programme provides you with the freedom to structure your studies based on available modules each semester. With no fixed subject combinations, you can tailor your learning experience to different legal fields, gaining a broad skill set that supports your career aspirations.
