Jasmine Begum, PhD

Jasmine, based in Kuala Lumpur, leads Microsoft's Corporate External and Legal Afairs for the ASEAN region. With over 30 years of award-winning experience, she brings extensive expertise in legal, policy, regulatory engagement, and communications. Prior to Microsoft, Jasmine held leadership positions at Dell, the UNDP, and the United Nations Executive Office of the Secretary-General in New York.

She has made significant milestones in her career, including being the first Malaysian appointed to the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) by UN Secretary General in December 2021. Her remarkable achievements have also earned her prestigious accolades such as the inaugural WIM's Tan Sri Napsiah Omar Women Leaders Award and the Global Leadership Award for ICT Excellence. These honors recognize her exceptional contributions to advancing policies on accessibility and promoting women in the field of technology.

Jasmine holds a double degree in Law from the International Islamic University in Kuala Lumpur, pursued post-graduate studies in the UK, and earned a Ph.D. in business and human rights. With admission to practice law in Malaysia, UK and State of Washington, she is currently an Adjunct Professor in several Universities across the region and has received an Honorary Doctorate for her outstanding leadership and contributions in Public Policy and Governance from UNITAR International University


Ms. Adeline Chin

Adeline Chin is a legal knowledge management consultant and legal tech evangelist. She is the co-founder of 3 legal related companies, namely, Chambers Lab, LawTech Malaysia, and Cyrus Book Store.

She comes from a diverse professional background of sales and product management as well as event hosting and organization before joining the legal industry in the field of Knowledge Management (KM).

A University of London law graduate and an MBA holder from Sydney Business School, Adeline has been trailblazing a progressive form of legal KM since 2012. She has authored several whitepapers and publications relating to KM and legaltech, and frequently speaks at conferences both domestically and abroad.

In her capacity as a KM professional, Adeline has designed, spearheaded and implemented innovative knowledge projects that humanize the law through infusion of technology. She currently sits as a member of the Tech Expert Committee established under the auspices of the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) and is the current Co-Chairperson of the Asia-Pacific Legal Innovation and Technology Association (ALITA).

Adeline is named at the top of the list of ‘30 people to watch in the business of law in Asia in 2021’ by Asia Law Portal and is the winner of the Distinguished Young Alumni Award 2021 awarded by the Malaysian Australian Alumni Council.


Andrew S. Kalish

General Counsel, BAC Education


Mr. Andrew S. Kalish obtained his law degree in 1992 and started his career as a law lecturer immediately thereafter. Upon completing the Certificate in Legal Practice, he was called to the Malaysian bar in 1998. He has vast experience in civil litigation and has corporate experience in international business and trade financing through his ventures in Singapore & Dubai. However, his passion for teaching drew him back into lecturing. Due to his experience and expertise, he has been appointed as the General Counsel for the BAC Education Group and leads the Legal & Compliance team. His responsibilities include overseeing all negotiations of contracts as well as legal and compliance matters of the Group. He also heads the Continuing Professional Education Department at Brickfields Asia College and sits on various BAC committees that develop, design and manage the courses and modules for legal practice and other legal careers. He also leads the BAC Career Centre and Asia Law Academy.

Thillai Raj T. Ramanathan, has over 30 years of global leadership and technology expertise, he earned the recognition as one of ASEAN's top 50 senior technologists driving digital innovation by the International Data Group (IDG). He served as the CTO of MIMOS (Malaysia's National R&D Centre), overseeing 500 researchers and guiding MIMOS to secure 600+ patents from the ground up. His career includes roles as Director of Flextronics, Director of Solectron, General Manager of Motorola, and establishing Motorola's software center in Malaysia.

Thillai Raj holds a Bachelor's in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), India, and is a Six Sigma Black Belt with 9 patents to his name. Currently, he serves as the CTO of the BAC Education Group, where the group received the Malaysia Technology Excellence Award for Online Services - Education under his leadership.
