Course Entry Requirements

  • Foundation in Arts (VUC); or
  • Matriculation or Foundation or its equivalent (min CGPA 2.00); or
  • STPM (Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia) – (min CGPA 2.00 in any 2 subjects); or
  • A-Levels - minimum 2 Es; or
  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma (Level 4 or 5, MQF), (min CGPA 2.00); or
  • 5 Bs in UEC (including English Language)

English Language Requirement

  • At least a Band Score of 3 in the MUET examination or its equivalent; or
  • Overall Band score of 5.5 in IELTS; or
  • Overall Band Score of 46 in TOEFL

*Minimum Credit in Mathematics and Science, and a pass in English at SPM level. Not applicable for students with a Diploma in Psychology

Examination Structure

The course assessment consists of 60% coursework and 40% final exam. All exams are conducted online and are proctored via Zoom. You will be required to submit your exam through Turnitin, similar to how assignments are submitted.

Recommended Subject Combinations

The Bachelor of Psychology programme does not offer elective subjects. Instead, you are required to complete all the core subjects along with the MPU general subjects provided by the university.

To successfully complete the programme, you must take a total of 31 subjects, accumulating 120 credit hours.

You can enroll in a maximum of five subjects during the long semesters (January and May intakes). For the short semester (September intake), you may take up to two subjects.

Exemption and Progression

If you have relevant prior qualifications or have partially completed a psychology programme at another institution, you may be eligible for credit transfer or module exemptions. To be considered for a smooth transition into our programme, you will need to submit your academic transcripts, course syllabi, and credit details for evaluation.

However, those who are already employed may continue their training at their current workplace. How long is the duration of the Bachelor of Psychology programme at VUC Malaysia?

The duration of the Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) programme at VUC Malaysia is 3 years. This timeframe is standard for Malaysian undergraduate honours degrees, allowing students to complete core modules, elective specializations, and the mandatory industrial training within six to nine semesters.
