The Veritas BSc (Hons) Psychology offers you specialised studies in diverse areas such as adolescent, clinical, social, and political psychology, providing you with a holistic understanding of human behaviour and cognition. Course Entry Requirements

  • Foundation in Arts (VUC); or
  • Matriculation or Foundation or its equivalent (min CGPA 2.00); or
  • STPM (Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia) – (min CGPA 2.00 in any 2 subjects); or
  • A-Levels - minimum 2 Es; or
  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma (Level 4 or 5, MQF), (min CGPA 2.00); or
  • 5 Bs in UEC (including English Language)

English Language Requirement

  • At least a Band Score of 3 in the MUET examination or its equivalent; or
  • Overall Band score of 5.5 in IELTS; or
  • Overall Band Score of 46 in TOEFL

*Minimum Credit in Mathematics and Science, and a pass in English at SPM level. Not applicable for students with a Diploma in Psychology

Examination Structure

The course assessment consists of 60% coursework and 40% final exam. All exams are conducted online and are proctored via Zoom. You will be required to submit your exam through Turnitin, similar to how assignments are submitted.

Recommended Subject Combinations

The Bachelor of Psychology programme does not offer elective subjects. Instead, you are required to complete all the core subjects along with the MPU general subjects provided by the university.

To successfully complete the programme, you must take a total of 31 subjects, accumulating 120 credit hours.

You can enroll in a maximum of five subjects during the long semesters (January and May intakes). For the short semester (September intake), you may take up to two subjects.

Exemption and Progression

If you have studied psychology at another institution and left the programme midway, you may be eligible for credit transfer. To be considered, you will need to submit your academic transcript, along with the course content, course name, and course credits. These must align with the structure of our Bachelor of Psychology programme for the transfer to be approved.

What careers can I pursue after completing the Bachelor of Psychology (Hons)?

You can pursue various career paths, including roles in marketing, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), sales, human resources, teaching, training, customer service, secretarial positions, content creation, copywriting, and more.

Can I become a psychologist after my Bachelor’s Degree?

To become a licensed psychologist or counsellor in Malaysia, further study in a specialised Master's programme is required.

What is an MPU course?

MPU (Mata Pelajaran Pengajian Umum) general subjects are a set of compulsory courses designed to equip you with a well-rounded education. These subjects are a part of the national curriculum for higher education and are required for all undergraduate programmes in public and private universities.

What time are the online exams conducted?

Online exams are typically scheduled from 8–10 PM on weekdays. On weekends, exams are usually held in either the morning from 9–11 AM or the afternoon from 2–4 PM. However, the exact schedule may vary depending on the subject and exam arrangement.

Is there an age limit for applying to the Bachelor's in Psychology programme in Malaysia?

No, there is generally no age limit for applying to the Bachelor's in Psychology programme. However, applicants must meet the academic qualifications required by the university.

Is there an internship requirement?

Yes, industrial training is a compulsory requirement for completing the programme, and you must undergo a 12-week internship. However, those who are already employed may continue their training at their current workplace. For those unsure about which industry to choose for their industrial training, there is no need to worry. They have the flexibility to explore various fields, including marketing, human resources, mental health clinics, customer service, education, and more.

How long is the duration of the programme?

The duration of the programme is 3 years.

Is financial support available?

Yes, you can apply for PTPTN to enroll in this programme. However, since this is an ODL programme, the maximum amount provided is approximately RM5,400 per year.

Are there any scholarships available?

Unfortunately, we do not offer any scholarships for this programme.
