BAC recently hosted the Youth Millennial Consumers Tell it as it is Town Hall organised by the Malaysian Youth Community (MYC!).
The event took place at BAC PJ Campus’ London room and was MYC’!’s first town hall meeting in conjunction with P&G’s First Real Job & Ideas programme, which aims to reach out to Malaysian millennials.
The sharing session was attended by CEO of Coca Cola Malaysia Gareth McGeown, who was the guest speaker at the event. Mr McGeown shared with over 50 students from IACT and BAC the challenges and opportunities of someone looking to make the best out of life. He hoped the students will make the best use of their learning journeys to explore the many opportunities that may arise in future, and consider employment opportunities without any expectations.
Mr McGeown shared his personal experience on how to network effectively, with a view to bring business opportunities to students who wished to make the best out of their careers. Having gained experience from past failures, he used himself as an example and encouraged students to plan ahead in their lives, learn from the experiences of others, and excel in order to achieve their goals. He also encouraged students to continuously learn and acquire different skills before considering starting their own businesses. He concluded the sharing session by reminding the students to stay curious and humble, and to embrace lifelong learning.
Several other executives from the Coca Cola Company also attended the sharing session. They were: Vice President R&D Europe, Middle East and Africa Taisa Hansen, Vice President of Business Integration and GM Ekocenter Derk Hendriksen, and Nemesio Diez, Global Technical Capabilities Director. They offered words of encouragement to the students and shared Coca Cola’s vision to inspire optimism and happiness through their brands and actions.
